Summer Reading Club

Summer Reading Club runs June 1- July 29. Sign up at the table in the children's department, pick up a reading log, and earn prizes for reading books this summer. Prizes are awarded for every five books read. Those entering 6th grade or up will sign up for the online Teen Reading Club.

We invite you to join us for some of the following, fabulous events for children this summer:

Merry Makers: Fifties Show for Kids
Friday, June 1 at 11 am Songs, puppets, and interactive fun for all ages.

Le Theatre de Marionette: Silly Strings
Sunday, June 3 at 3 pm for all ages
This musical variety show features several fun and unique trick marionettes including roller skaters, jugglers, teddy bears, Michael Jackson and even Elvis.

The Pipdillys
Wednesday, June 6 at 2 pm for all ages
Join this dynamic musical comedy duo for songs, magic, juggling and energetic audience interaction with important messages for the whole family.

Mime Dana Proulx
Thursday, June 7 at 1 pm for 8-12 year olds and 2 pm for ages 13+
Watch a demonstration of make-up application, learn about the history, and try out some miming scenarios yourself.

Make & Take Craft Night: Musical Instruments
Thursday, June 7 at 7 pm for all ages

Musical Instrument Petting Zoo presented by the Rojas School of Music
Tuesday, June 12 from 11 am to 12 pm for all ages
Touch and try a variety of musical instruments!

Mad Science’s “Sounds Like Science” Show

Our favorite mad scientists are back for the music-themed summer with a show that will teach us all about the science behind all of the music and sounds we hear!

Thursday, June 21 at 1 pm for 8-12 year olds and 2 pm for ages 13 and up

Polka Show (and some history too!)
Thursday, June 21 at 7 pm for all ages
Everyone is welcome to join us for Uncle Mike’s Polka Show, featuring the happiest music on the planet!

Will Parker Concert for Kids
Wednesday, June 27 at 2 pm for all ages
Will Parker is a children's songwriter and teaching artist, making music for kids ages 1-100.
Percussion Games and Drum Circles
Thursday, June 28 at 11 am for Seniors (55+), 1 pm for 8-12 year olds, 2 pm for ages 13+, and 7 pm for the whole family
